This is supposedly a door in Paris. The street number looks like it fits the city; I wish I knew its exact location.

It’s warming up a bit. I’m looking forward to spring flowers.

[15 March 2007] Sporty smart car outside Musee d’Orsay.

Last week, after starting my job search in earnest, I found several interesting job prospects. This week, not so much. However, the career path I want to follow is available, just not in Houston.

I’ve also started the hunt for a car. If I stay in Houston/Texas, a car is mandatory. The public transportation available here is anemic due to lack of funding/interest and the sheer enormity of the major cities. I would like to buy a late model vehicle with good gas mileage, but nothing (in my price range) has stood out.

[23 February 2007] L’Institut du Monde Arabe. Fascinating museum that showcases Arab culture. This was particularly interesting since I had taken an intro to the Muslim world the quarter before. There were some beautiful artifacts in there. I would highly recommend visiting if you’re interested in this region of the world. I would also highly recommend visiting if you’re interested in contemporary architecture. The building itself is amazing to look at - the outer windows are covered in small motorized shades which allow in or block out the light.

[23 February 2007] I have more pictures of Durango, but I need a break from the blue skies. Sometimes there is such a thing as too much blue. Therefore, we will be looking at some grey today. Specifically, the rear of Notre Dame. One close up, and one with a shot of the Seine and surrounding buildings taken from the rooftop of l’Institut du Monde Arabe. Gotta love flying buttresses.
